Pricing

Every other GitHub sourcing tool meters what you can take out. StarHunt charges for searches and nothing else. Whoever you find is yours to keep.

What the free plan is, honestly

It is three searches, and then it stops. That is deliberate: three is enough to run a real role, read the shortlist and decide whether the ranking is any good, which is the only question worth answering before paying. It is not enough to fill a role with, and we would rather say so than let you find out in week two.

Nothing is degraded in the meantime. The profiles are the full profiles, the contact details are there, and the export is unrestricted. A free account that hides the results teaches you nothing about the product.

Why there are no credits

Most sourcing tools meter the output: so many profile unlocks, so many contact reveals, so many exports per month. It is a reasonable way to price a business and a bad way to do the work, because it puts a cost on the one action you should never hesitate over, which is keeping a good candidate you just found.

StarHunt meters the input instead. Searches are what cost us money to run, so searches are what we charge for. Once a developer is in your list, exporting them a hundred times costs the same as never exporting them at all.

How this compares

The tools StarHunt is usually compared with sit an order of magnitude higher, and most of them do more: outreach sequences, non-engineering roles, market analytics. The comparison that matters is cost per engineering hire sourced, not the sticker price.

Questions

Is there a free version of StarHunt?

Yes. Three searches, no credit card. Contact details, CSV export, search by job description and candidate tracking are all included, exactly as on Pro. The number of searches is the only difference between the two plans.

Does StarHunt charge per contact or per export?

No. There are no credits of any kind. Exporting a hundred profiles costs the same as exporting five, on every plan including the free one.

What currency am I charged in?

The currency follows your country, as listed above. The price shown on this page is the price charged.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Billing is monthly and cancelling stops the next charge. Everything you exported before cancelling stays yours, because it is already a CSV on your machine.

What happens to my saved candidates if I downgrade?

Nothing. The pipeline stays readable and exportable on the free plan. Only the number of new searches is limited.

Do I need a card to try it?

No. The free plan needs an account and nothing else.
